CHRIST IS RISEN

April 1, 2018

Welcome to St. Joseph’s this Easter Sunday. Why do we say Christ IS Risen? It is because “is Risen” is in the present where He is.
He is the Risen Messiah…yesterday, today, forever.
Please stay after the service to greet and confirm this wonderful news with each other and to enjoy a time of fellowship.

Intercessions and Prayers

Prayer for Today
Lord of life and power, through the mighty resurrection of Your Son, You have overcome the old order of sin and death and have made all things new in Him. May we, being dead to sin and alive to You in Jesus Christ, reign with Him in glory, Who with You and the Holy Spirit is alive, one God, now and for ever.

Prayer for the Diocese of Montreal
We pray for the Church of St Lawrence, LaSalle: The Reverend Dorothy Samuel and the Reverend Deacon Merlyne Howard,
Honorary Assistant.

Prayer for our Church Family
We are often not the people
that we should be, living in the certain knowledge
of your great mercy and love. Distracted by the world around us
we fail to hear your voice, or hide when faith is challenged. Some of us wander from the path and some of us have never tried to walk it.
Forgive us, we pray, and bring us again or perhaps for the first time into
a new life with you. Amen.

Prayer Team
For those who wish to pray with someone, a prayer team is available after the Service in the left-hand corner of the Sanctuary.
Today’s team is Susan and Christopher.

The flowers in Church today are in memory of those of our loved ones who have gone before us and live within our hearts.

Something to consider

Jesus Christ did not come into this world to make
bad people good;
He came into this world to make
dead people live. – Lee Strobel

A Gift for You

What is the message of Easter? It is best summed up in the Bible, where God speaks to us. Read on…

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Now, let’s make it more personal…

For God so loved you that he gave his one and only Son, that if you believe in him you shall not perish but have eternal life.

God offers us the gift of eternal life. What do we do with gifts? We can accept them or give them back. What will you do?

If you would like to know more…may we suggest that you speak to Reverend Belle or one of our wardens, Diane or Janice.

If you would prefer to ponder this, may we suggest that you go to the following:

May each of you have a blessed Easter.
