Intercessions and Prayers

Prayer for Today

Almighty God, give us grace to cast away the works of darkness and put on the armour of light, now in the time of this mortal life in which your Son Jesus Christ came to us in great humility, that on the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who is alive and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Prayer for the Worldwide Anglican Church

We pray for the Reformed Episcopal Church of Spain (Ecclesiastical Province to the Archbishop of Canterbury), the Right Reverend Carlos López-Lozano.

Provincial Prayer Care
We pray for the Ecclesiastical Province of British Columbia and the Yukon, Archbishop Melissa Skelton and the Provincial Council

Diocesan Prayer Care
We pray for Regional Deans, the Reverend Nicholas Pang and the Reverend James Pratt.

Prayer for our Church Family
Father, as we enter this season of Advent, make us ever mindful of the greatest gift ever given – your Son, Jesus. Even though he was sinless, he died a criminal’s death on a cross so that we who believe would have eternal life. Help us to go out into the world and share this Good News as he commanded us. Amen.

Prayer Team
For those who wish to pray with someone, a prayer team is available after the Service in the left-hand corner of the Sanctuary.
The Prayer Team scheduled for today is: Linda & Richard

Lord, open our eyes,
That we may see You in our brothers and sisters.
Lord, open our ears,
That we may hear the cries of the hungry, the cold,
the frightened, the oppressed.
Lord, open our hearts,
That we may love each other as You love us.
Renew in us Your spirit,
Lord, free us and make us one.

Mother Teresa (1910-1997)
