Prayers and Intercessions

Prayer for Today
Almighty God, Your Son Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. Give us grace to love one another and walk in the way of His commandments, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Prayer for the Worldwide Anglican Church
We pray for the Anglican Church of Melanesia – the Most Reverend George Takeli, Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Melanesia and Bishop of Central Melanesia.

Provincial Prayer Care
We pray for the Ecclesiastical Province of Ontario – Archbishop Colin Johnson and the Provincial Council.

Diocesan Prayer Care
We pray for the Partnership Committee – the Reverend Andy O’Donnell, Chair.

Prayer for our Church Family
Gracious Father, You have given us a new commandment. We are to love one another with the love that You have shown us. We know that, on our own, our stubborn human nature will get in the way. Help us to overcome our natural tendencies. Draw us nearer to You every day, that we may be more like You in every way. Amen.

Today’s Prayer Team
For those who wish to pray with someone, a prayer team is available after the Service in the left-hand corner of the Sanctuary. The Prayer Team scheduled for today is: Susan & Christopher

Faithful ones, today’s Gospel reminds us that we leave our mark on the world with our thoughts, words and actions. We are told that there is one sure sign that we are followers of Jesus Christ. It isn’t church attendance, acts of charity or social justice (although these things are extremely important). It is love.

Love shows that we are disciples of Jesus Christ. The love of Christ covers fellowship, empathy, harmony and goodwill. In his letter to the Corinthians, Paul assures us that all action without love is nothing but a lot of noise.

May our love shine through in all that we say and do.
