Welcome

We welcome you this morning as we commemorate Remembrance Day, which is at its core about remembering and expressing gratitude for those who have fallen in the service of our country so that we can enjoy the freedom that we have.
As believers, true gratitude ultimately points to God.
As we remember those that have fallen, praise Jesus for how He has shown us true love and sacrifice, and taught us what real freedom is.

Prayers and Intercessions

Prayer for Today
Eternal God, Who caused all holy scriptures to be written for our learning, grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them, that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which You have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Prayer for the Worldwide Anglican Church
We pray for the Lusitanian Church (Extra-Provincial to the Archbishop of Canterbury)– the Right Reverend Jorge Pina Cabral, Bishop of the Lusitanian Church.

Diocesan Prayer Care
We pray for the Diocesan Council – the Right Reverend Mary Irwin-Gibson, Chair and Mr. Sandy Montgomery, Vice-Chair.

Prayer for our Church family
Loving God, as we gather here today, may our hearts be full of memories of and gratitude for our countrymen and women who served under the armed forces in wars fought for the freedom we enjoy today. Bless all those who gave the best of themselves for our country and be with all those who continue to give of themselves to establish peace and protect the innocent in our world. May the peace that only You can give be our constant hope. We pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Prayer Team
For those who wish to pray with someone, a prayer team is available after the Service in the left-hand corner of the Sanctuary. The Prayer Team scheduled for today is: Susan & Dulcy

Friends are priceless. “A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother” (Prov. 18:24). No amount of money could be enough to replace true friends. We can rejoice in their faithfulness and delight in being around them. We should thank God daily for the friends that we have and pray that the day will never come when we do not have friends.
When it comes to choosing friends, let us all be friends of Jesus (John 15:14).
