Prayer for Today
Almighty and everlasting God, Whose will it is to restore all things in Your well-beloved Son, our Lord and King, grant that the peoples of the earth, now divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under His gentle and loving rule; Who lives and reigns with
You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Prayer for our Church Family
Father, we ask that you use us to be instruments of Your peace. In a world with so much hate and intolerance, we pray that You help us to remember that we are all Your creation, made for Your purpose. We pray for the strength to lift up those who are downtrodden and the courage to defend those who are being persecuted. This we pray in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
Prayer Team
For those who wish to pray with someone, a prayer team is available after the Service in the left-hand corner of the Sanctuary. The Prayer Team scheduled for today is: Linda & Richard

Make Me an Instrument
St. Francis of Assisi (1181 – 1226)
He was born into a wealthy family and, as a young man, indulged in the pleasures that came with the lifestyle.
He became very ill at 20 years old and started to focus on his relationship with God. He would eventually leave all his riches behind to spend time in lonely places asking God for spiritual enlightenment. He eventually dedicated his life to serving God and, in the process, brought thousands to Christ.
The Prayer of St. Francis or the Peace Prayer was published anonymously in 1912 and is attributed to him:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Today, as we hear more about our efforts with World Vision, let us reflect on the life of St. Francis and ask God what we can do to bring hope where there is despair and joy where there is sadness.
