Once all villagers decided to pray for rain. On the day of prayer, all the people gathered, but only one boy came with an umbrella. That is faith.

Every night we go to bed without any assurance of being alive the next morning, but still we set the alarm to wake up. That is hope.

We see the world suffering, but still we get married and have children. That is love.

Three things will last forever – faith, hope, and love – and the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)

When you throw babies in the air, they laugh because they know you will catch them. That is trust.

We plan big things for tomorrow in spite of zero knowledge of the future. That is confidence.

But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. (Jeremiah 17:7)

On an old man’s shirt was written a sentence: “I am not 80 years old; I am sweet 16 with 64 years of experience”. That is attitude.

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. (Philippians 2:5)

Prayers and Intercessions

Prayer for Today
Almighty God, in our baptism You adopted us for Your own. Quicken, we pray, Your Spirit within us, that we, being renewed both in body and mind, may worship You in sincerity and truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Prayer for the Worldwide Anglican Church
We pray for the Church of the Province of West Africa – the Most Reverend Dr. Daniel Sarfo, Primate & Metropolitan, Archbishop of the Internal Province of Ghana, and Bishop of Kumasi.

Provincial Prayer Care
Let us give thanks for:
– the ministry of the Anglican Foundation
– students and youth camps
– bishops, priests and deacons
– military chaplains
– vacations and opportunities for rest and refreshment
– abundant harvest

Diocesan Prayer Care
We pray for the Parish of St. Thomas and St. Patrick Square Residence, the Reverend Karla Holmes.

Prayer for our Church Family
Heavenly Father, thank you for all that you have given us – for families and friends, for our place of worship, for our country and province, for our health and for your grace and mercy. Thank you for being with us through all our joys and sorrows and for comforting us when we are sad or lonely. Thank you for yesterday, today, tomorrow and for the rest of our lives, but most of all, we thank you for the gift of your son, Jesus, and for our salvation through Him. May we live this and every day thankful for all that has been given to us. Amen.

Prayer Team
For those who wish to pray with someone, a prayer team is available after the Service in the left-hand corner of the Sanctuary. The Prayer Team scheduled for today is: Susan & Christopher
