Today’s Thought

Author and Giver of all good things, graft in our hearts the love of Your name, increase in us true religion, nourish us in all goodness, and of Your great mercy keep us in the same; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

We cannot assume we are saved because we really like who we are. It is God who decides where we will spend eternity. We should not exalt ourselves, feeling that we are better than others, or that our alliance with the church is all we need to be ‘in’. We need to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, and our neighbours as ourselves.

Prayers and Intercessions

Prayer for Today
Almighty God, we are taught by Your word that all our doings without love are worth nothing. Send Your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of love, the true bond of peace and of all virtue; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Father, we thank You for being our provider. We thank You for every gift that You give us. We thank You for the seasons and for the changes that each season brings. As a community, we pray that You draw us closer to You every day. As we start another year of school, we pray for all our children. Grant them Your protection. Help them to walk in Your path and help them to bring Your light to those they meet. Amen
